Step by step

Instructions

  1. Begin in a high plank with your hands beneath or slightly wider than your shoulders and both legs extended.
  2. Keep your body in a straight line from your head to your heels and brace your core.
  3. Drive one knee toward your chest while keeping your shoulders over your hands and your hips stable.
  4. Return that foot to the starting plank position under control.
  5. Immediately drive the opposite knee toward your chest, then return it to the plank.
  6. Continue alternating legs at a controlled rhythm without excessive bouncing through your hips.

Coaching

Tips

  • Count each individual knee drive as one repetition.
  • Press the floor away through your palms to keep your shoulders stable.
  • Keep your hips level and move only as quickly as you can maintain a strong plank.
  • Drive each knee through a comfortable full range while keeping the extended leg active.

Technique check

Common mistakes

  • Allowing the hips to rise too high or sag toward the floor.
  • Rounding excessively through the upper back instead of maintaining a strong shoulder position.
  • Shifting excessive weight into the hands and letting the shoulders drift behind the wrists.
  • Using very short knee drives that reduce the intended range of motion.
  • Moving too quickly and losing core tension or hip stability.
  • Bouncing the hips from side to side with each knee drive.
